ACT Test expenses

Hi everyone, I'm planning on taking the ACT but I'm a bit concerned about the financial side. Can anyone tell me how much the ACT test is usually around?

As of the 2024-2025 testing year, the base cost for the ACT (without the writing section) is $69. The cost with the Writing section included is $94. However, these prices could fluctuate slightly year over year so it's always best to confirm directly on the ACT's official website.

In addition to the base fee, there might be additional costs like test center change and test date change fees, both of which are $25.00. There is also a fee for late registration which is an extra $38. So, it's crucial to plan ahead to avoid these additional expenses.

If you feel you might have difficulty affording the ACT, you may consider looking into ACT's fee waiver program. Fee waivers cover the cost of taking the ACT (up to two times) and come with some other benefits as well, such as free test prep resources. Eligibility for these fee waivers typically depends on factors like family income and enrollment in programs like Upward Bound.
