Hi folks, What's the actual duration of the SAT exams? I know it's divided into sections, but how long is each one? Need to work on my time management skills! Thanks in advance.
Hello!
As of spring 2024, the SAT, which is now fully digital, is structured in the following way:
1. The Reading and Writing section of the SAT has two 32-minute modules. In total, you'll have 64 minutes to complete 54 questions. This translates to approximately 71 seconds per question.
2. For the Math section, there are again two modules, each lasting 35 minutes. So you'll have 70 minutes in total to answer 44 questions. This gives you around 96 seconds per question, or a little over a minute and a half.
Therefore, the total duration of the digital SAT is 134 minutes, during which you will complete 98 questions.
Preparing for the test, especially in terms of managing your time, is crucial to achieving your desired score. Good luck on your studies!
