How to register for an AP test?

Hey all, this is my first time taking AP classes and I'm a tad lost. What's the process to register for an AP test and is there a specific site or location that I need to do it at? Thanks for any help!

You typically register for AP tests through your high school as they coordinate with the College Board to offer these exams. Here's a general process:

1. Consult with your AP teachers or guidance counselor: As you are taking AP classes, the first step is to talk to your teachers or school counselor about the exam registration process. They can provide you with specific instructions on how to register at your school.

2. Authorization from your AP coordinator: Once you've established your intention to take the test, your school's AP coordinator will give you a unique join code, which you'll use to register for the exam.

3. Registration: The coordinator will guide you on how to create and use a College Board account, (if you don't have one) where you'll enter your join code to register for the specific exam.

4. Payment: Generally, most AP exams come with a fee of $98 per exam in the U.S., and $128 for exams taken outside the U.S. You must pay your fee (typically due in the fall) to complete your exam order.

The entire registration process is generally completed by early November for the year's May exams, and by March for schools that start their process in the spring.

Finally, if you're homeschooled, or if your school does not offer AP exams, you will need to arrange to take exams at a participating school. The College Board provides a search feature on its website to find nearby participating schools, and you'll need to contact them directly about registration and payment.

I hope this helps, and feel free to follow up with any more questions!
