Advice on 4 year colleges in NYC, especially in the CUNY system?

Hey everyone. I really want to go to college in New York City, but not sure where to start. I'm interested in the CUNY system but not quite sure which of their colleges are the best for undergrad studies. Any insights or experiences you could share about 4-year colleges in the CUNY system would be highly appreciated.

Sure, I'd be glad to share some insights into the colleges in the CUNY system! Here's a brief rundown:

1. Baruch College: Known for its Zicklin School of Business, which is well-regarded in the areas of finance and marketing. Baruch's business program is considered one of the best public undergraduate business programs in the country. They also have a solid arts and sciences department.

2. Hunter College: Hunter is recognized for its strengths in the liberal arts and sciences. It offers a variety of majors from nursing, social work, to the visual and performing arts, and is home to the prestigious Roosevelt Scholars Honors Program.

3. Brooklyn College: This college has quality programs across a wide spectrum of disciplines, ranging from fine arts to business and is known for its diverse student body.

4. Queens College: Notable for its education, sociology, and psychology programs. It also has a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa for its strengths in the liberal arts and sciences.

5. City College: Particularly strong in architecture, engineering, and the sciences. The college has a historic social culture rooted in service and innovation, and boasts beautiful gothic-style architecture.

Each college excels in different areas, so take into account what you’re interested in studying when making your decision. It's also important to note that, by virtue of being located in NYC, these schools offer students numerous opportunities for internships and jobs in a variety of industries.

Outside the CUNY system, two other public colleges of note in the city are the Fashion Institute of Technology and SUNY Maritime, both part of the State University of New York system.

Do your research to make an informed decision based on your own interests and needs. Don't forget to consider things like campus culture, size, location in the city, and range of extracurricular opportunities which can significantly affect your college experience!
