Harvard: location details?

Hey everyone, I just started looking into colleges and I'm not quite sure exactly where Harvard University is located. I get that it's in Massachusetts, but could somebody please clue me in on the specifics, such as the city and surroundings?

Sure thing! Harvard University is located in the city of Cambridge, Massachusetts, which is just north-west of downtown Boston. It's central to the intellectual hub of Massachusetts and is even embedded within a vibrant urban neighborhood. Harvard Square, which is a bustling activity center filled with shops, restaurants, and a variety of cultural attractions, is essentially an extension of the campus. The famed Charles River runs between the Cambridge side, where the main campus is located, and the Allston side, where many of the athletics facilities and the business school are.

Getting around is pretty straightforward as Cambridge and Boston are well-connected by public transportation. So, if you're a student at Harvard, you're quite close to a cosmopolitan city and you've got a whole other range of cultural, social, and professional opportunities as well. The historic value of Harvard and the city itself truly adds to the unique experience you would have studying there.
