Stanford Requirements for ACT: What's the average score?

Greetings everyone! I'm planning on taking the ACT soon and wondered what kind of scores Stanford typically looks for? I'd appreciate if recent applicants or those familiar with the admissions process can shed some light on this.

For Stanford University, the majority of admitted students generally have ACT composite scores in a very high range. While Stanford does not publish official data regarding ACT scores, historically, the middle 50% range for accepted students has hovered around 34-35 out of a possible 36.

However, it's important to remember that ACT (or SAT) scores are just one part of your application. Stanford follows a holistic review process, which means all aspects of your application -- including your academic record, extracurricular activities, essays, letters of recommendation, and more -- are taken into account.

In preparing for the ACT test, aim to score as high as possible for the best chances. That said, students with lower scores have certainly been admitted to Stanford before, usually because they excelled in other parts of their application.

Remember, the ACT score is not the be-all and end-all of your application. Good luck on your test!
