GPA for Texas State University Applications?

Howdy folks! I'm a high school junior from Texas and I've got Texas State University on my shortlist for college. Anybody has any clue about what kind of GPA Texas State usually expects from high school applicants?

Hello! Texas State University is not considered a highly selective school; the acceptance rate is around 88%. According to their official data, the average GPA of their admitted students is approximately 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. However, keep in mind there's a range of GPAs. It is not a solid threshold.

Alongside GPA, Texas State University also takes into consideration the rigor of your high school courses. So, if your GPA is lower but you have been taking challenging courses, that might help balance things out.

Admissions also consider your SAT/ACT scores (though they've been test-optional during the pandemic), essays, extracurricular activities, and other components of your application. They will review your application holistically. That being said, hitting that average GPA range or better yet, exceeding it, will likely strengthen your application.

Best of luck with your college applications!
