How much is the tuition at UNCA?

Hello everyone, junior here starting to make sense of college costs. UNCA has made its way onto my list, but I couldn't find a clear answer on their tuition. Can any of you fill me in? Thanks!

Absolutely, I can provide some information here. As of the 2024-2025 academic year, the tuition cost for an in-state undergrad at the University of North Carolina at Asheville (UNCA) is around $7,500. However, those from out-of-state will see a higher price tag of around $24,848.

These figures cover the cost of tuition and fees but don't include other expenses like books, supplies, and cost of living items like room and board. Once you factor in those costs, the total can be significantly higher. For example, adding room and board would take the total cost of attending UNCA to about $21,500 if you're in-state, and up to $38,840 if you're out-of-state. Please keep in mind that these are estimated costs and the actual costs may vary slightly based on personal circumstances and decisions.

Also, remember, those figures don't have to be your final costs. After submitting the FAFSA and determining your Student Aid Index (SAI), you may qualify for financial aid or scholarships that can lower your out-of-pocket expenses. As well, the UNC system does have some need-based grants and scholarships for in-state students.

I hope you find this helpful. Reach out if you have more questions about college costs and financial aid!
