Typical ACT score for Wake Forest?

Hi everyone! Rated by ACT score, how competitive is Wake Forest University? I'm prepping for the ACT right now, and it would be really helpful to know what score I should aim for to have a decent shot at admission. Thanks in advance!

Wake Forest University has historically been a highly selective institution and, in general, successful applicants often have strong standardized test scores. For context, prior to becoming test-optional, the middle 50% ACT range for enrolled students typically landed between 32 and 34. This means that 25% of students scored 34 or above, while another 25% scored 32 or below.

However, as of the 2020-2021 application cycle, Wake Forest University has adopted a test-optional admissions policy. This means that you are not required to submit your ACT scores as part of your application, and your candidacy will not be negatively impacted if you choose not to do so.

If you decide to submit your ACT scores, scoring within or above the above-mentioned range will certainly add a positive aspect to your application. However, remember that Wake Forest University looks at multiple factors when considering applicants, and a lower ACT score can be balanced by strong aspects in other parts of your application, like a high GPA, compelling essays, and significant involvement in extracurricular activities.

In addition, if you're finding the ACT particularly challenging, consider focusing on other parts of your application like your GPA or extracurricular activities that can equally demonstrate your potential as a candidate. All the best with your preparations!
