Acceptance Rate at LA Tech

Hey everyone. I've been considering LA Tech among my college options, but I'm trying to get a feel for how competitive the admissions process is. Can anyone share any information about their acceptance rate? It would be great to understand the average GPA or standardized test scores for admitted students as well. Cheers!

Sure, happy to help with this! Louisiana Tech University, also known as LA Tech, is generally considered moderately selective. As per the most recent data, LA Tech has an acceptance rate of around 57%, which means that out of every 100 applications, 57 students are admitted, making it somewhat competitive but not extremely so.

Regarding the average GPA, the typical admitted student has a GPA of around 3.5. However, keep in mind that the LA Tech doesn't have a minimum GPA requirement and assesses applications holistically, which means other components of your application like your essays, recommendations, and extracurriculars will also be taken into account.

As for standardized test scores, LA Tech has reverted to requiring SAT/ACT scores for admissions after a period of being test-optional due to the pandemic. The middle 50% SAT scores for admitted students range from 990 to 1260, and ACT scores range from 20 to 27. In other words, 50% of admitted students score within these ranges, while 25% score below and 25% score above.

As always, remember that these are averages and ranges – they don't necessarily represent cutoffs or guarantees. Make sure you're holistically developing your application in addition to maintaining strong academics.

Hope this helps in understanding the competitiveness at LA Tech!
