Curious about ACT Test Scores Release

Hello, I am new to this whole testing process and I just took ACT. Does anyone have any information regarding how long it takes for the test scores to be released? What's the usual process like? I'm trying not to stress here, but the wait is killing me!

The waiting period can indeed be a bit nerve-wracking, so understanding the timeline can be helpful. Typically, ACT scores start to be released about ten days after the test date. However, this is the earliest period and it can sometimes take a bit longer, about two to eight weeks.

Remember, this is the time frame for the multiple-choice part of the test. If you took the writing section, this can take an additional two weeks to get scored.

RELAX: Once your score has been processed, you'll receive an email from ACT notifying you that you can view your scores online by logging into your ACT account.

Remember, the precise dates can vary test to test, so don't worry if you don't see your scores exactly on the 10th day.

As a side note, while checking for your scores, try not to refresh the page too frequently as sometimes the ACT website can block access for 24 hours due to 'excessive activity'. So, a check once or twice a day would be more than enough.

Once you have your scores, you'll be able to decide whether or not you're content with them or if you wish to retake the test. It's a good idea to consider these scenarios beforehand, so that you can quickly make a decision when you do receive your scores.

As always, just keep in mind that testing is only one component of your college application, and a single score does not define your capabilities!
