What's the time limit for each section of the SAT?

Stressing a bit about pacing during the SAT. I heard there are different times given per section, but I'm not sure what they are. Can anyone break it down per section for me? It would be a big help.

Absolutely, I can help clear up any confusion around time limits on the SAT.

As of spring 2024, when the SAT went completely digital, its structure is as follows:

1. Reading and Writing: You'll be given two 32-minute modules, during which you have to complete 54 questions. So, practically speaking, you have about 71 seconds to answer each question.

2. Math: Similarly, you'll have two 35-minute modules to complete 44 questions. This gives you slightly more time per question than the Reading and Writing section, with about 96 seconds (a bit over a minute and a half) per question.

In total, the SAT will take you about 134 minutes, during which you'll need to complete 98 questions.

Remember that practicing under timed conditions can help manage the stress around pacing. Using apps like the Bluebook™ can help provide a more accurate idea of how to pace yourself as it allows you to preview the digital SAT and even take a full-length practice test. This might help you get a better feeling for the test before the actual day.

Hope that clears things up! Let me know if you have any more questions.
