Minimum SAT Score for Harvard Admission?

Hey! I'm planning on applying to Harvard but I'm a bit concerned about my SAT scores. Can anyone tell me what the minimum SAT score for Harvard might be? Trying to figure out if I should retake the SAT or not. Thanks in advance!

While Harvard, like many other highly selective colleges, doesn't officially publish a minimum SAT score for admission, historical data shows that admitted students typically score very highly. As of the 2023-2024 application cycle, the middle 50% of admitted students scored between 1500 and 1580, which means that 25% of admitted students scored below a 1500, while 25% scored above a 1580.

However, keep in mind that being within this range doesn't guarantee admission, nor does a score below this threshold mean that you won't be admitted. While test scores are an important part of your application, they're not the only factor that admissions committees consider. As part of a holistic review process, your GPA, course rigor, essays, letters of recommendation, and extracurricular involvement will also play significant roles in your application review process.

If you're considerably below the middle 50% range, it may be worth considering a retake if you believe you can improve your score with additional preparation. However, if you're within or near this range, it might be more beneficial to focus on other areas of your application, such as strengthening your essays or expanding your involvement in extracurricular activities. Good luck with your application process!
