What's the scoop on University of Mount Union admissions?

Hey everybody, I'm starting to plan out my applications this year and University of Mount Union came on my list. I'm curious about their admissions process. What kind of GPA do they usually look for? And how much do they weigh extracurriculars? Do they have a holistic process? Any advice would be awesome.

As for the University of Mount Union, here's a brief rundown of what you can expect from their admissions process.

When it comes to GPA, data suggests that a majority of admitted students have a GPA of 3.0 or above. However, this doesn't mean that students with GPAs lower than this can't get in — remember, the admissions committee looks at each application individually.

Extracurriculars are also important in any college application process, but it's more about how involved you were and what kind of leadership roles you took on, not how many clubs or sports teams you were on. Mount Union looks at the quality and level of your involvements rather than the quantity of them.

Lastly, they're not as holistic in their approach as some other institutions. While they do consider the whole picture — including your grades, test scores, extracurriculars, and application essays — it is typically the quantifiable elements (i.e., grades and possibly test scores if provided) that play a more significant role in their decisions. That said, it's still essential to demonstrate your interest in the school and your chosen field, along with your unique qualities and experiences, in your application.

Hope this helps! You can do a little more digging on their website or reach out to their admissions office to get more specific about their process. And remember, each application is unique, so what worked for one person may not work for another. Best of luck with your application!
