Exploring James Madison University: GPA requirements?

Sup y'all, so I'm really into James Madison University and I want to set the right goals for myself. Does anyone know what their GPA requirements are? I'd also appreciate any info you guys have on what types of courses they look for (like honors, AP, or IB?). Thanks in advance!

Hey, it's great that you're planning ahead and setting goals! James Madison University (JMU) has not publicly specified a minimum GPA requirement; however, it's important to note that the average range for GPA typically lies around 3.55 on a 4.0 scale. This means that half of the accepted students have a GPA above this and half have a GPA below this.

As for the type of coursework, JMU certainly wants to see that you've challenged yourself throughout high school. Taking a rigorous course load, including honors, AP, or IB courses can definitely help you stand out. That being said, remember that colleges like JMU would emphasize more on how you perform in demanding courses, rather than just taking them for the sake of it. Aim for a balance between challenging yourself and maintaining strong grades.

I wish you the best of luck in your journey towards JMU. Keep up the hard work!
