MIT SAT Requirements - Any Insights?

Hey there! MIT's on my dream list, but I'm not sure about their SAT requirements. Can anyone share what the MIT SAT requirements are specifically? Would appreciate the help!

MIT is one of the colleges that requires an SAT or ACT score from its applicants. For the class that entered in the fall of 2024, the middle 50% range of accepted students' SAT scores was between 1520 and 1570. Keep in mind this isn't an official "minimum", but it gives you an idea of what competitive scores look like.

However, don't forget that MIT looks at much more than just test scores. Academic strength, depth and breadth of coursework, participation and leadership in extracurricular activities, evidence of character and personal qualities, among other factors, also play significant roles in their admissions decisions.

You'll want to take time to build a strong application that showcases not only your academic abilities but also your unique abilities and potential in the field you're interested in. A spike, or highly developed specialty, would aid in this.

Lastly, bear in mind that MIT is one of the most competitive universities and receives many applications from highly qualified students each year, so keep your options open and apply to a range of match and safety schools as well!
