Is Villanova University adopting a test-optional policy for future admissions?

Hey everyone, I was hoping someone here could shed some light on Villanova's test-optional policy. I've heard rumors that Villanova University might not require standardized tests for future admissions rounds. Is this accurate? And if so, does it apply to both SAT and ACT scores? Thanks in advance!

As of my last update, Villanova University will continue with their test-optional admission policy for the 2024-2025 application cycle. This policy means that submission of SAT or ACT scores is not required for admission.

The test-optional policy applies to both the SAT and ACT. If you choose not to submit test scores, it won't be held against you in the admissions process. Instead, the admissions committee will place more emphasis on other aspects of your application, such as your high school transcript, extracurricular activities, and essays.

However, please note this policy is subject to change, so it's always a good idea to reconfirm closer to when you will be applying. You can check Villanova University's undergraduate admissions webpage for the most current information, or reach out to their admissions office for clarification.

Additionally, even though submitting a test score is not required, there can still be instances where doing so could give your candidacy a boost. If you'd like to learn more about test-optional policies and how to navigate them, I'd check out this comprehensive blog post from CollegeVine: https://blog.collegevine.com/does-test-optional-mean-test-optional/

Good luck with your application!
