Which colleges still require SAT scores?

Hey y'all! So, I've been prepping for the SAT for some time now, but I've heard that many schools have become test optional. Are there any colleges that still require you to submit your SAT scores? Thanks!

Sure, as of the 2024-2025 application cycle, several notable schools have decided to go away with their previously enacted test-optional policies and are now requiring applicants to submit SAT or ACT scores. These schools include:

1. Dartmouth College

2. Harvard University

3. Purdue University

4. Brown University

5. California Institute of Technology (Caltech)

Remember that many other schools are test-optional, including Columbia University, Princeton University, Stanford University, University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins University, New York University, and the University of Chicago. Meaning, it's your decision whether or not to submit your test scores.

However, be sure to check each college's application requirements directly from their admissions page to get the most current and accurate information. Policies can sometimes change quickly.

And don't forget to weigh the benefits of submitting your scores, even to test-optional schools. If your SAT score is strong compared to the school's average accepted score, it could potentially boost your application.

Good luck with your SAT prep!
