William & Mary GPA requirements?

Hey guys, I'm finalizing my list of colleges to apply to and William & Mary is on that list. However, I'm a bit concerned about their GPA requirements. Anyone know what the general acceptance GPA range is for William & Mary? Also, do they weigh GPA more than other aspects of the application? Thanks in advance.

While William & Mary doesn't explicitly list a GPA requirement on their admissions page, they do emphasize a strong academic record, and the general acceptance GPA range tends to reflect that. Looking at recent admissions data, the average GPA of admitted students at William & Mary is around 3.75 on a weighted scale. However, this can vary by year and does not mean you can't get accepted with a slightly lower GPA.

In terms of the weight placed on GPA, it's important to remember that William & Mary, like many colleges, utilizes a holistic review process in considering applications. This means they consider all parts of your application - not just your GPA. They look at your coursework rigor (like AP/IB course loads), standardized test scores, essays, extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation, and your character/personality as presented throughout your application.

Therefore, while a solid GPA is important, William & Mary values students who excel in multiple domains, including those who show potential for growth, leadership, and positive contribution to their community. It's essential to make these other parts of your application as strong as possible. Remember, the goal is to present a complete picture of who you are, your academic abilities, and what you would bring to the campus community.
