Failed college, thinking about the military

So, college didn't work out for me the way I planned and I kinda failed to make it through. Now, I'm thinking about joining the military. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How did it work out for you?

While I don't have direct personal experience in this situation, I can understand that this may be a challenging time for you, and it's great that you're open to exploring different paths. There are indeed many individuals who have opted for the military after college didn't work out for them - and there can be many advantages to taking this route.

The military can provide life skills, discipline, and career training you wouldn't necessarily get in a traditional college setting. You can gain valuable leadership skills, experience teamwork, and potentially even travel. Plus, some might also pursue education while serving in the military; the GI Bill, for example, can help cover post-military education costs down the line.

There are challenges as well though. The military lifestyle is not for everyone, with early mornings, strict discipline, and the potential for deployment. Also, the process of enlisting requires meeting certain requirements, including passing physical fitness tests and medical exams.

A military career can be rewarding, but it's crucial to ensure that this is a choice that fits with your personal goals and values rather than a "fallback" option alone. If you're not already working with a mentor or counselor, I would recommend seeking out advice from individuals who have served in the military themselves to form a complete understanding of what military life entails.

So, in response to your question: yes, there are many who found the military to be fulfilling and beneficial for their personal and professional advancement after college was not a fit, but it's important to thoroughly research and consider this decision for your specific interests and goals.
