Any clue on GA Tech acceptance rates?

Hey guys, I've been looking into Georgia Tech but I'm curious as to how difficult it is to get in. Can someone set me straight on the acceptance rate? And what kind of applicant profiles does GA Tech typically accept?

Georgia Tech is known for its selectivity, and in recent years, its acceptance rate has been quite competitive, typically hovering around 16%. However, keep in mind that it varies each year based on the applicant pool and can have fluctuations between Early Action and Regular Decision, as well as in-state and out-of-state applicants.

The academic profile of students admitted to Georgia Tech is generally high. The average high school GPA is often around 3.98 - 4.0, on a 4.0 scale, indicating that the majority of successful applicants had high "A" averages in high school. Keep in mind, many of these students took rigorous coursework - AP, IB, or dual-enrollment classes, rather than just general-level classes, to maintain these GPAs.

Regarding standardized tests, Georgia Tech still requires an SAT or ACT score for the 2024-2025 application cycle. Typical mid-50% SAT scores range from 1370 to 1530, while ACT mid-50% scores tend to fall between 31 and 35. Despite these numbers, please note that Georgia Tech doesn't only focus on these scores. A holistic review process is followed, where various factors like your extracurricular involvement, leadership roles, community service, essays, and recommendation letters get due consideration in addition to your academic performances.

Furthermore, most successful applicants to highly selective colleges have 8-10 total extracurriculars with deep involvement in a few of them, showing a commitment to their interests beyond academics, aligned with the concept of a "spike", a term used to describe a highly-developed specialty in a specific discipline or field.

So, while meeting or exceeding these academic figures can aid your admission chances, it's equally important to present a well-rounded application package, showing your unique contributions to Georgia Tech's community.
