SAT requirements for Georgetown University?

Hi all, Georgetown University is on my radar and I'm preparing for the SATs now. Does anyone know what their general SAT score requirement is? Any tips from students who got in?

As of the 2024-2025 application cycle, Georgetown University does require SAT or ACT scores, which makes your task of preparing for the SAT all the more important. For a point of reference, the average SAT score for admitted students at Georgetown is typically in the range of 1410-1550. Achieving a score within or above this range can increase your chances of admission.

It's worth remembering, though, that these scores are averages, meaning some admitted students scored lower and some higher. In other words, while aiming for a high score is important, it isn't a guarantee of admission, and a lower score doesn't automatically rule you out. The admissions team will be looking at your application holistically, which means they'll consider grades, coursework rigor, class rank, recommendations, essays, and extracurriculars in addition to test scores.

For tips on how to improve your chances, add depth and specific details about your experience and future goals to your application essays. Show the admissions team why you're a good fit for Georgetown specifically. Are there particular programs, classes, professors, or campus organizations you're excited about? By demonstrating how you would take advantage of what Georgetown offers, you can make your application stand out.
