Navigating the AP Physics 1 Exam - Areas of Focus?

Physics is kinda freaking me out 😬. For anyone who’s taken AP Physics 1, what are the key concepts I need to nail down for the exam? Are there particular areas I should devote more time to, or common pitfalls I should avoid? How do you handle the harder problems?

Don't let the pressure of the AP Physics 1 exam get to you. Remember, getting a foundational understanding of Newtonian mechanics is key since it forms a large part of the course and the exam. Also, focus on the principles of energy and work, as well as waves and simple circuits, which are fundamental concepts. For tackling difficult problems, practice applying these concepts to solve real-world scenarios – the AP exam often frames questions this way. Flashcards can be surprisingly effective for remembering formulas, and when you're studying, make sure to do lots of practice questions to get comfortable with the format. If you stumble upon a problem that seems insurmountable, break it into smaller, more manageable parts and solve each one at a time. Lastly, try not to get too bogged down on one tough question during the exam — manage your time wisely and move on if necessary, coming back to trickier problems if you have time at the end. You've got this!
