AP Psychology FRQs

I will be taking the AP Psychology exam next spring and I'm kind of stressed. Does anyone know exactly how many FRQs are on the test? I want to make sure I'm practicing enough.

The AP Psychology exam contains two Free-Response Questions (FRQs). These two questions together contribute 33.3% of your total exam score. The questions typically require you to integrate knowledge and understanding from various content areas to provide an in-depth analysis.

The first FRQ often relates to experimental design, research methods, and statistics, while the second FRQ usually pertains to a specific psychological theory, concept, scenario, or issue that spans across multiple themes or subdomains. You will have 50 minutes in total to complete both FRQs (approximately 25 minutes for each question).

It's important that you practice these questions regularly leading up to your exam to get comfortable with the format and ensure you're illustrating your understanding effectively. The College Board's website provides past years' FRQs and scoring guidelines, which can be a useful study resource. Afterwards, read through the scoring guidelines to assess how well you did, paying special attention to the information that earned points. This practice will help you understand the AP Psychology FRQ requirements better before you take the actual exam. Happy studying!
