What's a competitive GPA for Ohio State?

Hey everyone, I've been looking to apply to Ohio State next year. I'm curious to know what GPA is typically needed to be seriously considered. Is there a range that most accepted students fall into? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Ohio State University, like many universities, doesn't set a minimum GPA requirement. However, a look at the statistical data of accepted students can give a better idea of what GPA might make your application competitive.

A majority of incoming students at Ohio State have high school GPAs between 3.7 and 4.0. This corresponds to being mostly A- to A on the letter grade scale. You can thus see that quite a lot of successful applicants are doing extremely well in their coursework.

At the same time, remember that while GPA is an important factor in your application, it's not the only thing that Ohio State considers. The university also looks at the rigor of your high school curriculum, your extracurricular involvements, your application essays, and letters of recommendation among other factors. Therefore, even if your GPA falls somewhat below the stated range, you should still consider applying if Ohio State is a school you're seriously interested in.

I hope this brings some clarity to your question! In any case, best of luck in your application process.
