Sample questions for the Classic Learning Test?

Hey everyone! I'm considering taking the Classic Learning Test instead of the SAT or ACT. Are there any resources or sample questions I can use to prepare for it? And can anyone share their experience with this test? Thanks!

The Classic Learning Test (CLT) is an interesting alternative to the SAT and ACT that some students might not know about. The exam aligns with high school’s curriculum more closely than either the SAT or ACT. It’s also fully online and offers very quick turnaround on scoring (within 24 hours).

In terms of prep materials, there are a few places you can look:

-The CLT's official website has a preparation bundle. This includes two practice tests, as well as "CLT10 Practice Tests".

-You can explore online tutoring websites or local tutors who specialize in the CLT. These often come with practice materials and strategies designed to familiarize you with the test contents and formatting.

-Khan Academy, while not having specific CLT materials, could also be of use. Many concepts that appear in SAT or ACT prep (which are abundant on Khan Academy) overlap with the CLT.

In terms of first-hand experiences, generally, it seems students find the critical thinking aspect of the test refreshing. It requires a different set of skills compared to the more traditional standardized tests, but still aligns with the problem-solving mindset many students have been cultivating in their regular classes. However, some find the CLT vocabulary section more challenging, as it requires prior familiarity with the words rather than being able to deduce their meaning from the given context.

All this being said, I would recommend researching which colleges accept the CLT. It is accepted by some institutions, but the SAT and ACT still cover a broader range of schools. Thus, making sure the places you're interested in and aiming for will accept this kind of test is an important first step. Good luck with your studies!
