SAT to ACT Score Translation - Is there a Rule?

Yo, does anyone know how to translate SAT scores into ACT equivalents? I took both and scored differently, so I'm just trying to compare and see which one looks better. Any guidance is cool.

Hey! There isn't a precise 1-to-1 conversion, but there are concordance tables created jointly by College Board (creators of the SAT) and ACT. These tables connect scores from one test to scores from the other. For instance, an ACT score of 34 corresponds to an SAT score somewhere in the range of 1490-1520. Note that this is an approximate equivalence, and individual schools may convert scores differently.

It's also important to remember that many colleges view the two scores as roughly equivalent and don't prefer one over the other. So, instead of focusing solely on which score looks better, you might also want to consider which score more accurately represents your strengths and capabilities.

Just remember that both tests are only one aspect of your application, and your overall academic profile, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation carry significant weight in the admissions process. Good luck comparing your scores!
