Yale Minimum SAT Score?

Hey folks, I know this might sound stress-inducing but I'm trying to gauge my chances for Yale. Does anyone know if Yale has a minimum SAT score for consideration? Thanks a lot!

Yale does not officially publish a minimum SAT score for consideration. However, given the competitiveness of Yale's admissions process, it's clear that your academic performance should be top-tier and SAT scores are often seen as an aspect of that.

According to available class profiles, the middle 50% of accepted students have SAT scores between 1470–1560. Note, this doesn't mean you can't get admitted with a score lower than 1470— a solid personal profile, excellent extracurriculars, and strong essays can also contribute significantly to your application. But the majority of admitted students typically fall within that range.

Also, note that Yale has back to requiring standardized testing for the 2024-2025 application cycle. They accept SAT, ACT, AP, and IB scores as part of their new test-flexible policy. Remember, admissions are holistic and each component of your application is considered as part of an overall profile. So, focus on other aspects of your Yale application as well, like building a meaningful narrative around your extracurriculars and experiences, crafting compelling essays, and obtaining strong recommendation letters in addition to your test scores.
