Attention writers! Where are you majoring?

Any budding authors or journalists around here? I'm set on majoring in Writing, but struggling to know which colleges to consider. Do you guys have any personal recommendations or experiences you could share? Anything would be super helpful!

If you're interested in Writing, there are several universities that have strong programs in Creative Writing and Journalism you might want to check out.

For Creative Writing, check out the University of Iowa's Writers' Workshop, which is highly respected in the field. It's considered one of the top in the country. Of course, the University of Virginia and Johns Hopkins University also have excellent programs.

For Journalism, Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications is recognized nationwide. Other strong Journalism schools include the Columbia University and the University of Southern California.

While these universities have notable programs, it's important to do your own research about what each program curriculum offers you, and also consider other aspects such as school culture, location, financial aid etc.

Remember, the "name" of the school doesn't fully determine your success in writing; it's the work you put into honing your craft and the experiences you gain that will shape your career. Best of luck in your journey!
