What colleges are there in Eureka?

Hey everyone! Does anyone know of any good colleges in Eureka? I've only lived here a couple years, so I'm not too familiar with the higher education scene. I'm particularly interested in the humanities, if that helps. Thanks in advance!

If you're looking to stick around the Eureka area, you do have some options!

Closest to Eureka, you have the College of the Redwoods. It's a two-year community college where you can take care of your general education requirements before transferring to a four-year institution. They offer a wide range of courses in the humanities and could be a great place to start.

About 20 miles north, you'll find Humboldt State University in Arcata. It's a four-year public university, which is noted for its strong programs in natural resources and sciences, but it also offers quite a few programs in the humanities. For instance, it has majors such as English, art, history, philosophy, and critical race, gender & sexuality studies.

While other options may be a bit further away, it's important to remember that remote learning opportunities can also expand your choices, allowing you to study at institutions that may not be physically located nearby.

Remember, finding the right college takes time and research. Make sure to explore these institutions thoroughly to find the best fit for your academic and personal interests. Good luck in your search!
