ACT Scoring: How low can you go?

Hey guys, I know this might sound strange but I'm curious to know, what's the lowest score you can get on the ACT? I'm pretty stressed about this test and I think knowing the full range might help me set a satisfactory target for studying. Thanks!

The ACT exam is scored on a scale of 1-36, where 1 is the minimum score you can achieve. This score is actually a composite, or average, of the scores you receive in each of the four sections: English, Math, Reading, and Science. Each of these test sections are also scored on a 1-36 scale.

But don't stress too much about that 1. It's very rare for a student to receive a score that low. To give you an idea, most students aiming for entry into competitive colleges aim for a composite score in the mid 20s to the mid 30s, depending on the selectivity of the school. It's also important to remember that your score will be seen alongside the rest of your application, so a less-than-perfect ACT score doesn't necessarily mean you won't be accepted to a great school.

Best of luck with your studies!
