Harvard's Average GPA?

Hey everyone. Do any of you know what the average GPA of students at Harvard is? I know it's a long shot for me, but I'd like to get an idea of where I stand. Thanks in advance.

Harvard University, as one of the most competitive institutions in the U.S., is known to admit students who've achieved highly during their high school career. While Harvard does not officially publish the average GPA of its admitted students, various sources suggest that the majority of admitted students tend to have extremely high GPAs. Most Harvard undergraduates entering the class of 2024 had a GPA of 4.0 unweighted or very close to it. Therefore, if you're going to apply to Harvard, a high GPA like this puts you in a competitive position.

However, it's important to note that the application review is holistic, meaning other components of your application (like your essays, recommendation letters, extracurricular activities) are also incredibly important. Admissions officers understand that GPA can vary between different schools and curriculum rigor, so don't dismiss your chances based on your GPA alone, as they'll take into account the context of your high school performance.

So while a high GPA is important to be competitive, it's not the sole factor Harvard considers. There are a myriad of variables making up a strong applicant, from leadership skills and extracurricular activities to the student's personal story and ambitions. Nevertheless, a strong GPA indicates academic vigor and places you among competitive applicants.
