AP Chinese Exam Insight Needed!

Anyone here taken AP Chinese? I'm taking it next year and I'd love to hear from someone who has already gone through it. What sort of things should I expect on the exam? Is it just reading and writing or do they test speaking and listening too? Thanks in advance, I really want to ace this!

Hey there! My daughter took the AP Chinese exam a couple of years ago, and she had a really positive experience with it. From what she's mentioned, the exam tests on all four language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. In fact, the speaking portion involves conversational speaking and a cultural presentation, so it's pretty comprehensive. The listening section can be quite challenging too; it involves listening to recordings and answering questions on them. Her biggest piece of advice is to practice consistently across all these areas and use various resources like online practice tests, language apps, and AP prep books to reinforce your skills. If you're already comfortable with the language, that's fantastic, but don't underestimate the specificity of the AP exam format - getting familiar with that can really help in acing the test. Oh, and don't forget to check out the College Board website for the breakdown of exam components and practice materials. Best of luck to you! You've got this!
