What high school GPA is expected for admission at UT?

Guys, I'm really aiming for the University of Texas. I know my GPA is important, so can anybody shed some light on what kind of GPA UT expects from its applicants?

The University of Texas at Austin is highly selective and is known to place a significant emphasis on academic achievement, including high school GPA. While it's difficult to give an exact number, to be competitive for admission you should aim for at least a 3.9 unweighted GPA (on a 4.0 scale), alongside taking a number of advanced (i.e. AP, IB HL, dual enrollment) courses.

Remember that UT Austin reviews applications holistically, meaning they consider more than just grades. They also take into account factors like extracurricular activities, essays, test scores, and letters of recommendation. So, make sure to present a well-rounded application that showcases your strengths and interests in multiple areas.

And of course, striving to maintain or increase your GPA, especially in your junior and senior years, is always beneficial since it indicates a consistent or upward academic trend to college admission officers. Good luck with your application process!
