Hawthorne High School's Military Leadership and Public Safety Course: Anyone have experience?

I'm looking into the Military Leadership and Public Safety course at Hawthorne High School. It sounds like a good path for someone interested in a military career, but I haven't found much student feedback on it. Does anyone have first-hand experience or suggestions for other courses worth considering?

While I don't have first-hand experience with the Military Leadership and Public Safety course at Hawthorne High School, courses like these often provide a robust introduction to the structure, culture, and expectations of military and public safety careers.

The curriculum might cover the basics of leadership, discipline, physical training, tactical strategies, military history, and legal and safety considerations. Some of these programs incorporate practical experiences or simulations to give participants a feel for what these careers entail.

Keep in mind, however, that taking courses like this in high school is one of many paths toward a military or public safety career. There are also Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) programs available in many high schools. These federally-funded programs introduce students to the values of citizenship, service to the United States, and personal responsibility, and they offer a sense of accomplishment.

In addition, some students choose to go directly into the military after high school, or they pursue a college ROTC program or attend a military academy for a more in-depth preparation. Others might prefer to pursue college majors in areas like criminal justice, criminology, pre-law, or public administration, depending on their specific career interests.

Remember, the course will likely be most beneficial if you actively engage in it, ask plenty of questions, make the most out of any practical experiences it offers, and take advantage of opportunities to connect with professionals working in your areas of interest.
