Virginia is home to several esteemed military academies, some of which are located within high schools, providing students with a regimented, military-style education. Some of them strike a careful balance between military training and traditional academic coursework. Here are a few you might want to consider:

1. Fishburne Military School: Located in Waynesboro, VA, Fishburne is an all-male military school for grades 7-12. It emphasizes character development, leadership, and a solid academic base to prepare cadets for college.

2. Fork Union Military Academy: This Christian military school is situated in Fork Union, VA. It provides a quality education for boys in grades 6-12, and it has a unique one-subject-at-a-time curriculum. The academy focuses on character development and leadership training.

3. Hargrave Military Academy: Located in Chatham, VA, Hargrave is open to boys from grades 7-12 in addition to having a postgraduate program. Aside from its military program, it also offers a variety of sports and other extracurricular activities.

4. Randolph Macon Academy: This is a co-educational boarding school in Front Royal, VA, for grades 6-12. They provide a well-rounded education, combining military structure with a strong academic program, and have an Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AJROTC) offering.

Be sure to visit each school's website for additional information and consider their missions, visions, and offered academics in addition to the military aspects. Plus, check out their application processes and requirements, as they may require an interview, recommendation letters, or other materials in addition to your transcripts.
