What are the largest colleges in Texas?

Hey folks, I'm a current junior who's thinking about applying to colleges in Texas. I'm more inclined towards larger universities for the diverse experience they offer. Anyone has a list of the largest colleges in Texas in terms of student population?

When it comes to student population, Texas indeed houses some of the largest universities nationally. Here are the five largest universities in Texas:

1. Texas A&M University, College Station: The largest university in the state, Texas A&M boasts a student population of over 70,000. The Aggies, as they're affectionately known, offer a big collegiate sports scene along with varied academic programs.

2. The University of Texas at Austin: UT Austin is close behind Texas A&M with a student population of around 50,000. It's centrally located and offers a variety of programs, and it's notably recognized for its business and engineering schools.

3. University of Houston: Located in the heart of Houston, the third-largest city in the U.S., the University of Houston has a student body in excess of 45,000. The university offers a wide range of degrees and the urban location provides ample internship opportunities.

4. The University of North Texas: Situated in Denton, the University of North Texas hosts around 40,000 students and has a reputation for its jazz program, being home to the One O'Clock Lab Band.

5. Texas State University: Located in San Marcos, midway between Austin and San Antonio, Texas State University has a student population of around 38,000. The university is spread across more than 500 acres and is situated along the San Marcos River, offering students plenty of outdoor activities.

Remember that while these schools have large student populations, that doesn't necessarily mean they are a better fit for you. Be sure to dig deeper into each school's programs, culture, and location and visit if possible to see if you could see yourself thriving there.
