Understanding military recruitment in high schools

I've noticed quite a bit of military recruitment at my high school recently, and I have some questions about the process. Does anyone know how these recruiters select and approach potential recruits? Just trying to understand better, thanks!

2. ASVAB: The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a test administered in many high schools that helps students identify their strengths and potential career paths. The results of this test are often made available to military recruiters to help them identify potential recruits who might be a good fit for the military.

3. Direct Outreach: Recruiters may approach students directly based on their participation in particular programs, clubs, or sports that suggest they may have skills or interests that align with military service. This can include, for example, participation in JROTC or physical fitness clubs.
