Military High Schools in the US - How Many?

A bit curious here, do any of you have a count or an approximation of how many dedicated military high schools there are in the United States? I am considering the military path and thinking about transferring to a military academy to prepare myself better.

While there isn't a definitive count of military high schools in the United States due to the diverse range of such institutions, there are, broadly speaking, about 30 traditional military high schools. These schools have a centered focus on military-style leadership education and training alongside standard high school education. This can include both public and private institutions.

Do remember, though, this estimation doesn't include schools that might have a Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps program (JROTC), but aren't considered a full-fledged military high school. There are more than 3,000 high schools in the U.S. that offer JROTC programs, which could also be an excellent option to consider if you're interested in a military-oriented education.

Before you decide to transfer, make sure to research thoroughly into the details of the particular military high schools and the programs they offer. Consider their academic curriculum, the rigor of their military training, extracurricular activities, and their culture. Also remember, the opportunity to gain leadership skills and discipline exists in many high schools outside of a military context, so consider your options holistically.
