High School Diploma for Military Spouses

My partner is in the military and I didn't quite finish high school but I'm eager to complete it. Are there any programs or possibilities for military spouses to get their high school diplomas? If so, how should I get started?

Absolutely, there are indeed programs to help military spouses earn their high school diplomas. You're in luck!

The federal government, as well as many non-profit organizations, provide numerous educational resources for military spouses. The U.S. Department of Defense operates the "MyCareerWorks" program, formerly known as the "MyCAA" program, which is a part of the Department of Defense's Spouse Education and Career Opportunities (SECO) program. MyCareerWorks offers financial assistance, career guidance, and resources to help military spouses complete their high school education.

To get started, I'd recommend visiting the MyCareerWorks website. Here, you'll find helpful information about the program and have the opportunity to create an account. Please note that MyCareerWorks is only available to spouses of service members on active duty in pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2, and O-1 to O-2.

You could also consider earning a GED as an alternative to a traditional high school diploma. The GED is recognized as an equivalent credential to a high school diploma by employers and colleges across the country, and there are often classes held in local community colleges.

Remember to ask around within your military community (officers, family services, etc.). They may also be able to provide additional resources or share personal experiences about the best ways to complete your high school education.

It's wonderful that you're ready to continue your education journey. The possibilities for what comes next are really exciting!
