What's Yale's Tuition Fee?

Hi all, I've always been curious about Yale and considering giving it a shot. I'm really interested in its programs, but I'm a bit worried about costs... Does anyone know how much tuition at Yale is on a yearly basis? Financial aid opportunities wouldn’t hurt either. Thank you so much!

Sure, happy to provide the current information for Yale! For the 2024-2025 academic year, Yale's tuition fee alone is approximately $67,250. Now let's add in all the costs: including room, board, and other expenses (like books and personal expenses), the total cost of attendance comes out to be around $87,150 per year.

Yale University follows a need-blind admissions policy and commits to meeting 100% of demonstrated financial need for all admitted students, regardless of citizenship status. This practice is true for all students - domestic and international.

Families with an income less than $65,000 with typical assets do not contribute to the cost of education at Yale. This includes tuition, room and board, books, travel, and personal expenses. Furthermore, families with incomes up to $200,000 a year (and assets typical for their income bracket) still regularly qualify for some financial aid.

However, you should use their net price calculator to get a more tailored estimate based on your family's financial circumstances. Don't be discouraged by the sticker price, many students pay less than the full price thanks to financial aid.

Finally, all students with any form of Yale need-based financial aid are also eligible for a Start-up Yale grant if they receive an offer for a term-time campus job. This is a $4,000 grant for their first year, allowing students to engage more fully in campus life without the pressure to work.

So, the cost can be steep, but Yale has a strong financial aid policy to help families afford it. Hope this helps!
