How many questions are there on the PSAT?

I'm trying to plan out how I'm going to tackle each section of the PSAT, but I'm not quite sure about the total number of questions. Does anyone know how many questions are on the PSAT and how they're distributed across the different sections?

Tackling the PSAT in sections is a smart move. To answer your question directly: The PSAT consists of a total of 139 questions. The test is divided into two main sections: Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math.

The Evidence-Based Reading section contains 47 questions to be completed in 60 minutes. This section is further split into reading and writing & language. The Reading subsection has 24 questions and the Writing & Language subsection has 23 questions.

On the Math side, you have two subsections: Math Test – Calculator, and Math Test – No Calculator. The Math Test – Calculator section has 31 questions to tackle in 45 minutes, and the Math Test – No Calculator section comprises 17 questions with a time limit of 25 minutes.

Mapping out your strategy for each section is a solid approach to improving your performance on test day. Good luck!
