What GPA does Washington State University typically require?

Racking my brains over the admission standards of WSU. Did a quick searches, but still not clear about the GPA they usually look for. Can someone clarify this? Would they still consider an applicant with a GPA that's not stellar but decent?

Washington State University (WSU) uses a holistic review process which means that they consider a variety of factors in addition to your GPA such as your course rigor, extracurricular activities, and personal essays. However, your GPA does play an important role in their admission decision.

At WSU, the average GPA of admitted students tends to hover around 3.5. However, WSU does not lay down a strict minimum GPA requirement for its applicants. Thus, if your GPA is below the average but still decent, WSU might still consider your application favorably, particularly if you show strength in other parts of your application.

Don't stress too much if your GPA isn't as high as you'd like. Instead, focus on presenting a strong application overall. This might include highlighting any leadership roles, important projects, volunteer work, or unique skills you possess. You might also do well to write a compelling personal essay that communicates your passion and potential.

Remember, a 'decent' GPA doesn't automatically rule you out of contention. It's all about how the parts of your application come together to present a compelling story. For instance, if you struggled with your academics initially but showed consistent improvement over time, that could be viewed favorably. So, continue to work hard and best of luck with your application!
