Age requirements for joining different military branches

Hi, I'm a junior right now but I'm really serious about joining the military after graduating. But I'm hearing different things about the age requirements for each branch. Could someone help me to understand it better? Is there a certain age I need to be to enlist in each branch? Thanks for your help.

Of course, let's break it down by branch:

1. Army: You can enlist at 17 with parental consent, or 18 without it. The maximum age to enlist for active duty is 35.

2. Navy: Similar to the Army, you can join at 17 with parental consent, or 18 on your own. The age limit for active duty is 41.

3. Air Force: You can enlist at 17 with parental permission, or start the process at 18 without it. The maximum age to enlist for active duty is 42.

4. Marine Corps: You can enlist at 17 with the consent of a parent or guardian, or at 18 without it. The maximum age for active duty enlistment is 28.

5. Coast Guard: The minimum age is also 17 with parental consent, or 18 without. The maximum age is 41.

6. Space Force: Since it's a new branch and it falls under the Department of the Air Force, the age requirements should align with those of the Air Force.

Remember, these age limits apply if you're enlisting. If you wish to become an officer by attending a service academy or through ROTC in college, the age limits are different. For enlisted members, the age requirements are waived for those with prior service.

Hope that helps, and best wishes on your potential future military career!
