Does anyone know the out of state tuition fee structure for Spelman College?

Hi folks, I'm currently a junior residing out of state and seriously contemplating about applying to Spelman College. However, I'm not quite sure what the total cost would be. Does anyone have a clear picture of the out of state tuition fee structure? Please note that I'm asking about the 'total' cost including dorms, food, books, any hidden fees that aren't usually included in the base tuition. Thanks!

Spelman College, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is a private institution, which means their tuition fees are the same for both in-state and out-of-state students. The comprehensive fee for the 2024-2025 academic year, which includes tuition, room, board, and mandatory fees, is likely to be around $49,000, based on recent data. Please note that the figure may change slightly depending on the specific housing or meal plan you select.

One item not usually included within this comprehensive fee is books and supplies. This can vary widely by major and by the course load you plan to take, but a rough average would be about $1,200 per year.

There might be additional personal expenses which could differ drastically based on individual lifestyles, but you may want to budget an extra $1,000-$2,000 for those.

While this comprehensive fee might seem overwhelming, keep in mind that many students receive financial assistance. Spelman College provides grants, scholarships, and work-study programs to help offset the cost of attendance, and many students take out student loans as well. Be sure to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as early as possible to maximize your eligibility for aid.
