Understanding Wyoming's Tuition

Hey guys, I'm considering attending college in Wyoming and I'm trying to get an idea of how much I'll need to budget for tuition. Anyone here with insight on Wyoming University's tuition structure? Appreciate any help!

Hello! University of Wyoming offers a remarkable opportunity for cost savings compared to many other state universities, especially if you're in-state.

For in-state residents, undergraduate tuition is about $5,190 per year (no including fees, room, and board). That's an impressive figure compared to other state institutions across the country.

If you're from out-of-state, the costs go up, but they're still relatively affordable compared to the national average. For out-of-state students, the annual tuition is approximately $21,600. Keep in mind these figures are for the 2024-2025 academic year and tuition tends to inch up each year so plan for a little bit of increase.

What's also worth noting is Wyoming's unique position as one of the few states part of the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program. If you're a resident of one of the 16 participating states or territories (includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, U.S. Pacific Territories and Freely Associated States, Utah, Washington, and other WUE locations), you're eligible for a significantly reduced out-of-state tuition rate. Under the WUE, tuition costs are capped at no more than 150% of in-state tuition rate.

Considering all these figures, remember that actual expenses will be more when you account for room, board, books, meals, personal expenses, and transportation. These additional costs can add up to be several thousand dollars more per year. Do check the University's net price calculator (https://www.uwyo.edu/sfa/cost-of-attendance/net-price-calculator.html) for a more personalized estimate.

Using all this information, you should be able to better estimate your total cost of attendance at the University of Wyoming. Good luck with your college planning!
