Cambridge colleges for Engineering

A bit of a nerve-racking question here, but does anyone know which Cambridge college might be a bit easier to get into for engineering, given that all are highly competitive?

While it's understandable that you're looking for an edge in the competitive process of applying to Cambridge, it's important to note that acceptance rates between the different colleges are difficult to compare. This is because Cambridge takes a pooled application approach: if an applicant gets rejected from their first choice college, they can still get accepted at another college that has fewer applicants for that field of study.

In terms of Engineering, it's widely known that all the Cambridge colleges offer a strong program because they follow the same comprehensive curriculum from the University’s Department of Engineering. However, the best fit for you might depend more on the college's size, extracurricular opportunities, location, or even the architecture.

I've heard that King's College and St. Catherine’s College traditionally take higher volumes of Engineering students, which might make them a tad less competitive. On the other hand, if you excel in interviews and have strong academic credentials, don't hesitate to apply to the reputed "stronger" colleges like Trinity and St. John's that are known for producing well-established engineers.

Remember, your decision should primarily be based on where you feel you'll be most comfortable since you'll be spending most of your time there. Good luck with your decision!
