Least Difficult Classes at Colby College

Hi guys, I'll be attending Colby in the fall and I'm slightly anxious about the academic rigor. Was there any class you felt was less taxing? Any tips are very welcome!

Hi! Excited to hear that you'll be attending Colby in the fall! It's completely natural to feel anxious about the academic rigor, especially when transitioning to a new environment. Remember though, everyone’s definition of “easy” is based on their individual strengths, interests, and previous experiences. It's important to choose classes that align with your interests and career goals rather than the perceived difficulty level.

That said, many students have said that introductory level courses tend to be a bit less demanding than upper level classes. This could give you a chance to adjust to the college pace of work, before moving onto more challenging content. Courses like "Intro to Psychology" or "Literary Life" have been said to be less intense while providing a good foundation for their respective subjects.

Try to create a balanced schedule, mixing in courses that you feel confident about with those that may be a stretch. It could also be helpful to research professors and their teaching styles to ensure a method that suits your learning style.

At the end of the day, however, what you put in is what you get out. Even in classes you find less difficult, make it a point to engage with the material, participate in class, and ground yourself in good study habits. That way, you're ensuring that you're making the most out of your classes, no matter the difficulty level.

Best of luck as you embark on this new chapter!
