Easiest classes to kickstart my journey at Williams College?

I've recently been accepted to Williams College and, needless to say, I'm absolutely thrilled! However, I can't shake off the jitters that come with the transition. So, I'm trying to identify some of the easier classes to help ease into the college schedule. Any former Ephs out there who could lend a hand?

Congratulations on your acceptance to Williams College! It's natural to feel some initial apprehension, but taking gentler courses is a great strategy to help ease the transition.

Regarding course selection, consider introductory courses in different departments, as they are typically designed to pique interest and encourage breadth for first-year students.

1. STAT 101: Intro to Statistics - This course can serve as a great primer for research methodology and statistical analysis, skills that will really come in handy for all majors. It's considered a les-intensive class, especially for those who already have a basic understanding of math or stats from high school.

2. ENVI 101: Environmental Science - This introductory course discusses environmental issues and offers an easy introduction to scientific research and thinking.

3. PSYC 101: Intro to Psychology - This is another great course that typically doesn't expect you to have any prior knowledge in the field.

4. ARTH 101: Intro to Art History - This class is considered forgiving for beginners and gives a comprehensive view of art's evolution.

5. PHIL 101: Intro to Philosophy - If you prefer diving into ideas and abstract concepts, this might be a good fit. Discussing these ideas in class can also sharpen your argumentation skills.

Just remember, an 'easy' class can vary greatly depending on your interests and strengths. Therefore, it's crucial to pick courses that align with your major or career aspirations while ensuring your academic load is balanced and manageable. You can also have a talk with your college advisor for further insights. Good luck with your academic journey at Williams College!
