ASVAB Scores & Military Branches

Hey, I'm a junior and looking into possible military service after graduation. While browsing, I saw ASVAB scores come up a lot. So, which branch of the military typically has the lowest ASVAB scores? Just asking purely out of curiosity. Thanks.

Sure, happy to help! The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is the standard test used by the U.S. military to gauge the abilities of military applicants. Every branch has different standards because the needs of each branch are unique. However, looking at the minimum required ASVAB scores for each branch can give us some hints.

The Army typically has the lowest minimum ASVAB score requirement, which is 31. The Navy requires a minimum score of 31, and the Air Force and Space Force each require a minimum ASVAB score of 31.

For the Marine Corps, the minimum ASVAB score is at 31. And finally, the Coast Guard has the highest minimum ASVAB score which is 36.

Keep in mind, these are just the minimum requirements and higher scores will open up more job opportunities within each service branch. And remember, your ASVAB score isn't a measure of your worth or capabilities—it's just a tool to help align your skills with the requirements of different military occupations.

Good luck with your future endeavors! Let me know if you have any more questions.
